RULES
BATTLE 2vs2
Solo pre-selections. Finals in pairs (via random drawing). Teams will compete on the live band of the We Got Swing evening.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The qualifications will take place in groups (heat) of 5-8 people on 3 songs from the DJ at different tempos (approximately 1 minute per song)
- In addition to the two guest dancers, 14 participants will be selected by the jury and will enter the quarter-finals
- The 16 selected will be assigned a pair by drawing lots: the final phases will therefore be in pairs (8 couples)
FINALS
- Each duo of dancers will compete against another duo to 2 different music from the live band
- 2 rounds in the 1/4 and 1/2 with only 1 passage of one minute per dancer and 1 music corresponds to 1 round, it means the passages of 2 dancers (180/200 bpm)
- A passage is not necessarily solo, depending on the strategy adopted it can absolutely be done as a duo. There will be no compulsory chorus, let yourself be carried away by the music!
- At the end of each battle the jury chooses the winning couple
- 4 couples will therefore be chosen by the jury to enter the 1/2 final which will take place a little later in the evening when the room is at the right temperature and the atmosphere is very lively
- The 1/2 finals will follow the same rules as the 1/4 finals
- The finalists will compete to the live music of our orchestra with 4 rounds = 2 one-minute passages per dancer (180/210 bpm)
BATTLE 1vs1 All Styles
Open to all solo dance styles (house, hip hop, waacking, popping, salsa, locking, mambo, breaking, jazz rock…) with the constraint of exclusively expressing oneself to jazz music.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The qualifications will take place one by one to the DJ’s music (swing, Latin jazz, rhythm ‘n’ blues). Each dancer will have between 30 seconds and 1 minute to show up his dance in front of the jury
- In addition to the two guests, 14 participants will be selected and will enter the 1/8 finals
FINALS
- For the 1/8 finals only 1 round is planned. Each dancer will compete 1 against 1 to the DJ’s music
- At the end of each battle the jury will choose the winner
- For 1/4 and 1/2, 2 rounds are planned = 2 passages of one minute maximum per dancer
- The final will be over 2 rounds = 2 passages of one minute maximum per dance
